Marjorie "Ethelyn" Farley

Marjorie “Ethelyn” Jones Farley was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on July 24th, 1940. She was the first child of Curt and Evelyn Jones. She and her parents moved to her home place south of Siloam Springs in 1946, after her dad was honorably discharged from the Navy following the end of World War II. She grew up there and went through 8th grade at Cincinnati School. She then continued her education at Siloam Springs High School where she graduated in 1958. She met the love of her life, Bob Farley, on the country road by her house a few years after she moved in. They were married on February 5th, 1961. After high school, Ethelyn decided to attend nursing school where she completed the RN program at Hilcrest Hospital in 1961. Many will remember her from the Siloam Springs Clinic where she worked with Dr. Stinnet for several years. She then became the Director of Nurses at Woodland Manor Nursing Home where she took care of many elderly patients. This is where her family saw her true talents at work. Her patience, care and understanding were a gift from God. She fiercely protected her patient’s privacy, dignity and safety while loving each and every one of them. In December of 1979, Bob and Ethelyn started a small business together building components for the pressure washing industry. Ethelyn continued her work at the Nursing Home at first, supporting their endeavor during the early years. That company became their life’s project which included the entire family. It opened many doors for them and facilitated a fulfilling career for them both. They were able to travel much of the world and make friends all over the US. Her biggest and best roll in life was as mother and grandmother. She became a grandmother in March 1985 and from then on introduced herself as Mimi Farley. She invested time and energy with all her grandchildren, and then her great-grandchildren. She is survived in this life by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Son Melvin Farley and wife Christie. Granddaughter Lacie Conner and her husband Matt. Their children Jenna Gregory, Lane Gregory, Stran Conner and Finleigh Conner. Lacie’s mother Denise Farley. Son Calvin Farley and wife Tina. Granddaughter Leslie Crawford and her sons, Mason and Ethan Crawford. Granddaughter Jessica Hampton and family. Leslie’s mother Margie Farley. Grandson Colton Farley and fiancé Jenny and Colton’s Mother, Stacey Zimmerman. Daughter Angie Thurman and her husband John. Their sons and grandchildren. Grandson Henry Hardaway and great-granddaughter Kiley Rae Hardaway. Grandson Jake Hardaway and his wife Jordan. Their children, Elli Whetstone, Ruby Whetstone, Lyndon Hardaway and Emile Hardaway. Grandson Kyle Hardaway and his wife Kirstie. Ethelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Evelyn, her beloved husband, Bob, her little brother Alan, and her son-in-law Kyp Hardaway. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the CETA Education Foundation via www.ceta.org Celebration services will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Lunch will be served at Brick Ballroom on Broadway in Downtown Siloam Springs after the burial.
