Janice Coleen Sloan, 77, of Hulbert, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Monday, April 7, 2025. Born on July 10, 1947, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Janice was the daughter of Ross J. Beck and Lula Elrena (King) Beck. On April 8, 1988, Janice married the love of her life, Art Sloan, in Northwest Arkansas. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership built on love, respect, and shared laughter. Janice was a woman of deep devotion — to her family, her work, and the simple joys of life. She was a loving wife, a proud mother, and a cherished grandmother whose warmth and strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Whether she was tending to her garden, working on crafts with care and creativity, or simply sharing a smile, Janice found joy in life's everyday blessings. Throughout her life, Janice wore many hats with grace and grit — from the open road as a truck driver in her early years, to the classroom where she nurtured young minds as a teacher’s assistant. No matter the role, she brought dedication, kindness, and a quiet resilience that inspired those around her. Janice’s presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Art Sloan; her daughter, Vicky Sutton; her brother, Chuck Beck; her parents, Lula Elrena Beck and Ross J. Beck. She is survived by three sisters, Laveta Coker of Colcord, Oklahoma, Brenda Sinor of Rose, Oklahoma, and Rhonda Hollenback and husband, Jerry of Kansas, Oklahoma; three brothers, Gale Beck and wife, Sue of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Danny Beck and wife, Sherri of Grove, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Beck and wife, Mary of Wellington, Kansas; one granddaughter, Dillon Sutton of Bentonville, Arkansas; one grandson, Blaine Vause of Charleston, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Wasson Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Wasson Funeral Home with a committal service to follow at Row Cemetery in Colcord, Oklahoma.
