Janell Fran Cochran

Janell Fran Cochran, 86, of Kansas, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She was born on July 29, 1938, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Calvin Keller Jacob and Corabelle Hayes Jacob. On January 15, 1959, Janell married James Dean Cochran in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, beginning a loving partnership that spanned over six decades. Janell was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and traveling with her close friends and sisters. Her faith played an important role in her life, and she was an active member of Lowrey Freewill Baptist Church in Rose, Oklahoma. Additionally, Janell dedicated many years to teaching as a special education teacher, touching the lives of students with her patience and compassion. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her mother, Corabelle Hayes Jacob; her father, Calvin Keller Jacob; two sisters, Agnes Mashburn, and Linda Downs. She is survived by her husband, James Dean Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma; two sons, Darren Cochran and wife, Jennifer of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Don Cochran and wife, Brandei of Kansas, Oklahoma; six granddaughters, Syriah Tehee of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Avery Kingfisher of Kansas, Oklahoma, Nikkita Cochran of Eureka, California, Jess Randall of Three Forks, Montana, Asia Tehee of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Jade Hill of Kansas, Oklahoma; six grandsons, Logan Cochran of Stillwell, Oklahoma, Kendall Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma, Josia Tehee of Kansas, Oklahoma, Don Cochran Jr. of Kansas, Oklahoma, Michael Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Austin Pepper of Kansas, Oklahoma; three great granddaughters, Emery Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma, Amelia Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Myla Kingfisher of Kansas, Oklahoma; nine great grandsons, Nathaniel Cochran of Stillwell, Oklahoma, Xavier Cochran of Kansas, Oklahoma, Jazper Cochran of Eureka, California, Colter Randall of Three Forks, Montana, Vince Tehee of Kansas, Oklahoma, Dason Tehee of Kansas, Oklahoma, Myles Hill of Kansas, Oklahoma, Eli Hill of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Asher Hill of Kansas, Oklahoma; one sister, Elenor Lamb and husband, Butch of Cuero, Texas; two brothers, Austin “Sonny” Jacob and wife, Jane of Booneville, Arkansas, and Nelson Jacob and wife, Ann of Preston, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Wasson Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church in Rose, Oklahoma with a committal service to follow at Kansas, Cemetery in Kansas, Oklahoma.
