Christi Coleman

On Tuesday, January 27, 2009, Christi Lois Hickman Coleman, born August 13, 1965, was called home to be with Jesus. We on this side of eternity will all miss her dearly but we look forward to the day when we will all be together with her in Heaven. Christi had prepared for this day many years ago when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour, and today her faith was made sight. She is survived by her husband Matthew Coleman and two wonderful children, Scott and Mason Coleman all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her loving and devoted father and mother Bill and Jean Hickman of Colcord, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law Brad and Rachel Hickman and a precious niece and a nephew Addison and Braden Hickman all of Gentry, Arkansas; by a wonderful loving grandmother, Granny Lois Hutchens of Colcord, Oklahoma; a father and mother-in-law, Harold Coleman of Westville, Oklahoma and Barbara Coleman of Stilwell, Oklahoma. There are also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who are all members of Christi’s family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Pansy Hickman; and Floyd Hagar all of Colcord, Oklahoma. Christi was a graduated of Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Christi also leaves behind a gracious and encouraging group of fellow teachers at the Gentry Elementary School where she was a physical education teacher for the past 16 ½ years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to an education fund set up at the Arvest Bank, P.O. Box 189, Gentry, AR 72734, for Matthew and Christi’s two young sons Scott and Mason Coleman. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The home-going celebration will be at First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009 where Christi and her family have been active members for the past 10 years, with the committal service and her burial in the Row Cemetery, Colcord, Oklahoma, immediately following the service. Dr. Robin Cowan of Gentry, Arkansas and Dr. Wayne Robertson of Valdosta, Georgia will officiate the services.
