Wanda Jean Moore

Wanda (Powell) Moore of Decatur, Arkansas passed away on April 14, 2016 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab at the age of 87 after battling COPD and pneumonia. She was born July 29, 1928 in Dill, Oklahoma. Wanda was the first child born to John and Maude Powell. She had to sisters Melba and LaNora Powell. Wanda graduated from Dill High school on May 23, 1947. She married James Richard Moore on September 21, 1948 at Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and to this union, they had five children: Richard Gene Moore, James David Moore, Larry Keith Moore, Deborah Sue Moore; and Rebecca Jean Moore. They moved to California in 1950 and lived there until 1964. The family then moved to a farm in Decatur, Arkansas. Wanda spent her adult life as a homemaker taking care of her family. Wanda was a loving Wife, Mother, Nana and Aunt. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ as her Savior was seen in the great compassion and love she had for others. She is survived by her husband James Moore at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab; her daughter and son-in-law Daniel and Deborah Sisk of Siloam Springs; two sons and daughter-in-law James David and Mary Moore and Larry and Amelia Moore both of Springdale, Arkansas; sister Melba Smith of San Bruno, California; four nieces Cindy Bowen of Clinton, Oklahoma, Karen Ricketts of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jan Myers of Woodland, California, and Betty Moore of Decatur, Arkansas; one nephew Bruce Farris of Portland, Texas; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister LaNora Farris; grandson Michael Moore; nephew Tommy Farris; niece Alice Willard; children Richard and Rebecca Moore. Graveside service will be officiated by Wasson Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 19 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19 at 1:00 P.M. till service time at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Speakers will be Mr. Bruce Potter of Gentry Church of Christ and Danielle Sisk of Owasso, Oklahoma. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking that a donation be given in Wanda Moore’s name to the Gideon International Organization.
