Minnie Gann

Minnie Mae Watkins Gann of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, went to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ on December 3, 2006, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born in Adair County in Bell Community on December 8, 1921 to Lillie Gardenhire Watkins and Harley Watkins. Minnie married Woodrow Wilson Gann on January 6, 1942 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. To this union two daughters were born, Marie Gann Carte and Wenona Gann Studards. Minnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs, teaching Sunday school there for 27 years. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and worked in sales at Hunts Department Store for 17 years. Her hobbies were cooking, quilting, sewing, reading, helping and giving to others. Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 ½ years, Woodrow, both her parents, three sisters and two brothers; Elizabeth Baie, Oma Siegman, Dona Bell Green, Waco Watkins, Dallas Watkins and her loved son-in-law Terry Studards. Minnie is survived by her two daughters, Marie Carte of Edmond, Oklahoma and Wenona Studards of Siloam Springs, her son-in-law, Ron Carte of Edmond, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Tony Carte and his wife Edwina and children Crystal and Jake; Tawnya Carro and her husband Armando and children Emily, Grant, and Jeffrey; Tammy Skinner and her husband Paul and children Brady Elizabeth and Creed, all of Edmond, Oklahoma; Derek Studards and Alex Studards, of Siloam Springs. Minnie is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mertie Day and husband Phil of Byron, California, Ruby Merriott of Galt, California and Emmitt Watkins of Beloit, Wisconsin; and four sisters-in-law, Margie Watkins and Allene Watkins both of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Billie Gritts and Joanna Christian both of Hominy, Oklahoma. Minnie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends with many good memories. She was a godly, loving woman and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Dr. Steve Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
