Marlon 'Kerry' Brinegar

Born on April 4, 1952, Kerry had a love for music, flying airplanes, and his family, each of which brought him immense joy and connection. Kerry had a great love for music, songwriting, and singing, which were central to his life. He spent many years playing with his close friends, Kenny Whitmire and Johnny Mack Lindgren, a musical collaboration that began in 1984. His love for music extended beyond performance; it was a way for him to connect with others and share joy. Kerry also cherished the time he spent fishing with his wife, Vanessa, a pastime that brought them closer together. His love for aviation was another defining aspect of his life, as he took great pride in flying his planes, sharing the freedom and thrill of aviation with his flying buddies. Kerry Brinegar, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Odessa Brinegar; his son, Casey Brinegar; and his daughter, Shannon Wiggins. Kerry is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Vanessa Brinegar; his two sons, Timothy Brinegar and Barry Brinegar; and his grandchildren, Tim Brinegar, Hunter Brinegar, Alicia Brinegar, and Phoenix Roby; grandsons, Ezra and Wren Wilson; and great-grandson, Harold Brinegar. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Pennock and husband Geoff; his brother, Tony Brinegar and wife Linda; his brother-in-law, Wilson Foreman and wife Karen; his sister-in-law, Terri Hendrix; his brother-in-law, Watie Foreman and wife Nancy; his sister-in-law, Paula and husband Jimmy McKnight; his aunt, Nelda Brinegar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he considered family. He has often been talked about as “the best man they ever knew,” and those who loved him will forever hold his memory in their hearts. A service to honor Kerry’s life will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at Gentry Seventh Day Adventist Church, 21090 Dawn Hill East Rd, Gentry, AR 72734, with Abiel Salgado officiating.
