Marissa Pearl Wahkinney

Marissa Pearl “Rissa / Ris” Wahkinney, 30, of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, passed away on August 15,2024 at her home. Marissa was born on July 08, 1994, in Lawton, Oklahoma; she was a lively, strong soul who was cherished by those who knew her. Marissa attended Montessori IB High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Lincoln High School in Texas. In high school, she enjoyed playing on the basketball team and being a member of the cheerleading squad. She furthered her education by earning a Pharmacy Technician Professional Career Diploma from Penn Foster College, and by becoming a Manicurist from the Career Academy of Hair and Design. A Christian, the LORD added Marissa to the church, and she attended and worshiped at New Harmony Church of Christ in Kansas, Oklahoma. She had a profound, sincere love for her faith, often spending time both reading the Bible and seeking and asking questions to rightly divide God’s Word. Marissa was known for her caring nature and entrepreneurial spirit; she was in the process of planning to start several businesses. She was devoted to her children and was planning and looking forward to establishing a home with them in Florida, so they could enjoy the sun and beach life. Marissa’s hobbies included spending quality time with her children and family, designing and doing nails, braiding and styling hair, reading various books, watching movies and television series, drawing, and, more recently, she had taken up walking and exercising. Marissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kermit McCune and Caltha Webster; great-grandmothers Lillie Glenn and Lizzie Levy; aunt, Patricia Ford; great uncles, Johnny and Immanuel Fleming; and cousins Dakota Green and Malaysha Smith. Marissa is survived by her parents, Brandy and Maurice Webster of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma; grandparents, Linda and TJ Flahart, of Lawton, Oklahoma; aunt, Jocelyn Jackson, of Atlanta, Georgia; uncles, Homer Webster and Timothy Webster (Latoya) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sisters, Mariah Wahkinney of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Lillie Webster of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma; brothers, Cj Webster, of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, and Adè Webster; niece, Meliah Wahkinney, Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her children, Kaiden and Isis Webster, both of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma; and a host of loving aunties, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Wasson Funeral Home with Pastor James Leudecke officiating.
