Everett Graves

Everett Elmer Graves, 81 year-old resident of Kansas, Oklahoma, died August 6, 2011 at home. Born July 27, 1930 in Pryor, Oklahoma, he was the son of William Clifford Graves and Carrie Lou Hanna Graves. Everett married Christine Baker on September 4, 1955 at her parents’ home in Kansas, Oklahoma. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Everett worked as a dairy farmer and cattle farmer. He was a member of Lowery Free Will Baptist Church and had served on the board of trustees at the church. Everett also served on the Delaware County Farm Bureau Board, Delaware County FHA Board and Delaware County Election Board. He was a member of the Delaware County Cattleman’s Association, Siloam Springs Farmers Co-op, Gideons and had been a Boy Scout Troop Leader. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, his eldest grandson, Daniel Brandon Gentry; one brother, Rudell Graves; and two sisters, Blanchie O’Leary and Ethelene Baumgardner. Survivors include his wife, Christine; one son, Dale Graves and wife Sharon of Kansas, Oklahoma; one daughter, Diane Gentry and husband David of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Riley, Rebekah and Patrick Graves, Darren Gentry, Danae Gentry-Thompson, Karina Smith and Jared Smith; two great granddaughters, Danalyn Mackenzie Gentry and Charlie Michelle Thompson; one brother, Russell "Rusty" Graves of Bernice, Oklahoma; three sisters, Betty Ball of Kansas, Oklahoma, Helen Bradley of Tryon, North Carolina, Carolyn Hough of Wagoner, Oklahoma; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Don Bradley, Dale Hough, Clifford and Alta Baker; and 82 nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service will be Dow David, J.C. Eagleton, Jerry Londagin, Omer Henderson, Rob Armbrister and Tom Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Tucker, Bobby Anderson, Kevin Martin, Larry Troyer, Gene Allen and Chris Piazza. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Lowery Free Will Baptist Church, Twin Oaks, Oklahoma with Pastor Lance Rogers and Brother Sam Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
