Donald Keith Wigington

Donald Keith Wigington, 84, of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his home. He was born August 14, 1940, to the late Arthur Jack Wigington and Mildred Elizabeth Norman of Carthage, Missouri. Shortly after graduating high school, in 1959, Donald married his wife, Patricia Ann Hooten, in Indio, California. Donald and Patricia were inseparable for 65 years. Having grown up in California’s Mojave Desert, Donald and Patricia developed a love for the desert landscape and all it has to offer. No matter how many times they moved away, that love kept calling them back. Donald was handy with tools and did extensive work in all his homes. He loved fishing, golfing, but most of all he enjoyed tending to his mini farm, where he raised chickens, goats, and all kinds of vegetables. He and his wife were free spirits and always wanted to be in full control of their life. He started and owned several businesses, all related to computer technology/programming, of which he was a very early adopter. Early on, he was very active at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, in Rogers, Arkansas, where he was a song leader while his wife played the piano. Family members witnessed how he would break out singing hymns while walking, driving, or in bed before going to sleep. Donald was very friendly and outgoing. He was known to commonly start conversations with perfect strangers that crossed his path. He made everyone feel special. Donald will be missed by all who knew him. We miss him already!! Donald came from a large family. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanie Freeman and Janet Wigington, and brothers Phillip, David, James, Johnny and Larry. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Wigington, of Colcord OK; three daughters, Connie Kimmel of Rogers AR, Laura Silva and her husband David, of Rogers AR, Susan Parker and her husband Cliff, of Bentonville, AR; son Andrew and prior wife Summer, of Las Vegas, NV; five granddaughters, Jaclyn Young of Honolulu, HI, Christy Young of Rogers, AR, Stephanie Silva of Rogers, AR, Maggie Parker of Los Angeles, CA, and Elizabeth Wigington of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandsons, Jeremy Young of Honolulu, HI, Nathan Parker of Decatur, AR, Brian Silva of Rogers, AR, Jonathan Silva of Fayetteville, AR, Aaron Kimmel of Huntsville, AR, and Wesley Parker of Rogers, AR; great granddaughter, Alexis Silva, of Rogers, AR; Donald’s sister, Pamela Rhodes and her husband Lyle, of Ardmore, OK; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Bentonville in the Love your City Building, 304 S Main St. Bentonville, Arkansas 72712
