Darlene Browers McClellan

Darlene Browers McClellan, 84, a resident of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on May 12, 2025, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born on May 17, 1940, in Decatur, Arkansas, the daughter of Marvin and Grace Browers. Darlene’s life was marked by love, creativity, and a deep commitment to her family and faith. She married Clyde Truitt, and together they raised three children, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and the joy of music. She had a passion for quilting, dedicating a special room in her home to her beautiful creations, each piece a testament to her artistic spirit and dedication. In addition to her quilting, Darlene shared a love for square dancing with her late husband, Gary McClellan. She took great pride in sewing her own dresses for their dance outings, where laughter and joy filled the air. Darlene was also a devoted Christian, actively participating in her church choir and sharing her love of music through special performances with her guitar. Her passion for singing was a gift she shared with her family, creating cherished memories of singing together that will stay in their hearts forever. Darlene served her community as a court clerk for several years, where her dedication and integrity shone brightly. She was a source of strength and support to those around her, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Darlene is preceded in death by her beloved husband Clyde, as well as her late husbands’, Ralph Roberts and Gary McClellan. She is also preceded by her brothers, Leroy and Jerry Browers, and her daughter-in-law, Sandi Truitt. She is survived by her children: Steve Truitt of Sperry, Oklahoma; Lisa Gaertner and her husband Gary of Springdale, Arkansas; and Julie Jackson and her husband Barry of Greenbrier, Arkansas. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Chris Truitt, Jamie Rascon, Benjamin Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Laura Long, Katelyn Jackson and Dallas Jackson. A loving great-grandmother to fourteen, and a great-great-grandmother to one. She is also survived by her sisters, Vickie Shields of Centerton, Arkansas, Jeanie Browers of Joplin, Missouri, and Pam Duncan of Lincoln, Arkansas. Darlene McClellan will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. A visitation will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m., May 16, 2025, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be then held at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, Arkansas.
