Dana Michelle Fox (Jackson)

Dana Michelle Fox (Jackson) entered Heaven on Sunday June 2, 2024. She passed away unexpectedly doing one of the many things she enjoyed doing - floating the crystal clear Illinois River with her husband Matthew and stepfather Jeffrey Wheeler. Matt met Dana in October of 2004 using a popular dating site at the time - date.com. Using the site's complex and groundbreaking matchmaking technology, it matched the two of us perfectly. She would use the library computers in between shifts at her job to catch up with our online romance. It quickly escalated and we decided to get married. The rest is History. Dana and Matt were married on June 11, 2005, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Missouri. This is the same church where Matthew's parents, Roger and Phyllis were married in 1973. Dana has always shown me what it means to have a true servant's Heart. When we first met, she was the sole parent of two children while working 80 hour shifts with a local Kansas City Hospice. She did her work with the utmost care and respect for all her patients and their families. A new opportunity presented itself with JWS, the company Matt had been with since 1998. Dana was a perfect fit. For 18 years she had been a part of the family now known as Command Alkon. Again, everything she did at work was with a servant's Heart. She always took a keen interest in helping customers feel informed with accurate and correct information. She made countless friends in her work. She always kept in touch with people she helped in her previous careers and frequently met those with whom she worked or knew on our travels. Dana is the person that could make a friend with anyone. She has touched the lives of countless individuals and will be deeply missed by many. There was never a time when she would miss an opportunity to do various outdoor activities including boating, kayaking, tubing, fishing, bicycling, motorcycling, tennis and pickleball. She loved frequent quiet drives through the beautiful Oklahoma Ozarks countryside. We moved here for its deep beauty and to get away from the city bustle. Her most recent favorite activities included driving the grandchildren around Flint Ridge in our UTV and hand feeding the deer and hummingbirds that frequent our house. Dana leaves behind her husband Matthew of 19 years. Faithful pup companions Daffodil, Doofy and Reighny. She also leaves behind many memories for those that were closest with her, including her beautiful sister, Christina; nephews, Lincoln and Landon; daughter, Alexandria and husband Adam, and their three wonderful children, Raelynn(in Heaven), Hope and Lauren; son, Joseph and daughter-in-law Tamela, and their wonderful children, Paisley and Paxton; step-son, Dylan and his daughter-in-law Maddy and her wonderful daughter, Everly; step-son, Evan; step-father, Jeffrey; grandmother, Mary; and aunt, Diane. Burial and memorial service will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her mother, Marlena Wheeler and brother, Arthur Wheeler at the Willis cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri.
