Charles Wesley Mayhew, 60, of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away on April 9, 2026, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. In a moving bookend to a life well-lived, Charles completed his journey on the same day it began, passing away on his 60th birthday. A Legacy of Horsepower and Heart Born in Oklahoma City on April 9, 1966, Charles was a lifelong "car guy" who turned a deep-seated passion into a lifelong career. As the owner of Mayhew’s Auto Service and Mayhew Race Cars in West Siloam, Oklahoma, he was a cornerstone of the local automotive and racing community. In West Siloam and beyond, his name held a lot of weight—standing for quality, integrity, and a handshake you could move mountains with. Charles was a gifted mechanic and fabricator who took immense pride in his craft. Whether he was building high-performance race cars from the ground up, navigating a swap meet, or spending a day at the drag strip, he was truly in his element. Beyond his mechanical talents, Charles was a dedicated mentor. He believed deeply in the potential of others, sharing everything he knew and teaching anyone willing to learn the trade. His door was always open to others; he was a man who lived with a helping hand extended, always willing to step in for anyone in need. Devotion to Family Above all his professional achievements, Charles was a devoted father, son, and Papa. He carried a profound sense of pride in the ones he raised, and his greatest legacy is the family he shaped with his strength and guidance. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Mayhew; his sisters, Deborah, Shelby, and Carolyn; his brother, Rick Mayhew; his nephews, Kevin Mayhew and Dale Dry Jr.; his niece, Elaina Pack; and his best friend, Eric Rivas. He is survived by his children: son Brian Mayhew of Colcord, Oklahoma, daughter Felicia Mayhew of Colcord, Oklahoma, and daughter Brooke Mayhew of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He leaves behind his beloved grandson and namesake, Charlie Mayhew of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; his brother, Cecil Mayhew of Westville, Oklahoma; and a large, loving extended family of nieces and nephews.
