Bill Buford Lyons

Bill Buford Lyons, 83 of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on January 11, 1941, to the late Lottie and Franklin Lyons in Williston, Florida, and was the youngest of five brothers. Bill married the love of his life, Paula Drucilla Clark January 1, 1960, in Blytheville, Arkansas. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Bill earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He spent many years as an accountant in Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Northwest Arkansas. Once in Northwest Arkansas, Bill worked for over 25 years in the real estate market as an agent, broker, developer, and most recently as owner of Lyons Century 21 based in Siloam Springs. His favorite times were those spent traveling, going to the beach, and barbecuing. Bill was well known for his “fall off the bone” smoked ribs and brisket served while watching his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a Godly man whose kind heart and generous spirit were extended to all those he came in contact with. Above all, Bill Lyons loved his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Drue Lyons, mother and father, Lottie and Franklin Lyons, and brothers, Wilbur, Ralph, Frank, and Fred Lyons. He is survived by two sons, Howard Keith Lyons and wife, Cindy of Siloam Springs and Kabe Lyons and wife, Angey of Fayetteville; daughter, Kristy Howell and husband, Jerry of Siloam Springs; six grandsons, Brant Lyons and wife, Holly of Farmington, Arkansas, Jake Howell, Matt Howell, Fletcher Lyons, Luke Lyons, and Nate Lyons all of Fayetteville; two granddaughters, Caitlyn Vanatta and husband, Shadoe of Siloam Springs, and Amanda Taylor and husband, Tim of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two great-grandsons, Liam Lyons and Emerson Taylor; three great-granddaughters, Elliana Taylor, Jeanie-Marie Taylor, and MarLeigh Taylor along with numerous loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Center Ridge Cemetery in Gurdon, Arkansas.
