Barbara Ann Phipps

Barbara Ann Phipps, 89 of Siloam Springs met her Lord and Savior, and joined her heavenly family on April 25, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born March 8, 1935, in Highfill, Arkansas to the late Hurley Jackson and Iva Murray Jackson. She married her high school sweetheart, Tommy F Walker in 1952. Together they had two children Delores Ann Walker Osbourn and Jerry F Walker. Barbara married Bobby Phipps in 1975, where she farmed when she wasn’t having fun at her day job. Barbara was a lifetime resident of the Siloam Springs area. In 1974, at the request of Ervie and Eva Barnett, Barbara began her employment at Barnett’s Dairyette. She took on the role of manager in 1979 where she taught a keen work ethic to many. There she met her lifelong friend, Gaylene Martin, where they worked side-by-side, for many years. Barbara retired in 1999, after 25 years of service but her love for the Barnett family continued. Janice Barnett Low remained one of her closest friends through the years. Her sense of humor never failed to be present, and her laugh was major-league contagious! To know her was to love her. She was everybody’s friend and was a confidant to many. Barbara shared a birthday with her grandmother Mae Etta “Mimmie” Murray and two of her grandchildren, Donny Osbourn and Barbara Osbourn McFerron. Known as “Grams” to her grandkids, Barbara set an example with her faith in the Lord. They all knew exactly who to call when they needed counsel and prayer. She took many trips throughout her life, and was known for her no recipe cooking and ability to keep a secret. After Bobby’s death, at the insistence of her son-in-law Roger Osbourn, she moved in to live with him and her daughter, Delores, where she resided for 32 years. She was one of a kind for a mother-in-law. Not one time was a cross word ever uttered between them. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Jerry F. Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Delores Osbourn and husband Roger of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four grandsons, Donny Osbourn and wife Sharla of Springdale, Arkansas, Rex Osbourn and wife, Christy of Siloam Springs, Daniel Walker of Siloam Springs, and Paxton Terry of Kearney Nebraska; three granddaughters, Barbara McFerron and husband, Curtis of Greenville, South Carolina, Courtney Walker of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Paige Voth of Fredonia, Kansas; nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Bell Cemetery, West Siloam Springs Oklahoma with Steve Low officiating. Pallbearers will be Donny Osbourn, Rex Osbourn, Curt McFerron, Chase Crain, Cody Osbourn, Blake Osbourn, Garrett McFerron, Clay Cunningham, and Hunter Osbourn; with Roger Osbourn and Daniel Walker as Honorary.
