Jerita "Sherry" Marie Haynes

Jerita “Sherry” Marie Haynes, 90, formerly of Siloam Springs, AR, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, after spending time under the loving support from the memory care staff at Landmark of Fridley, Minnesota. Jerita was born on June 10, 1933, in White Bear Lake, Minnesota to parents Leah and Dolphus Cardinal, where she was second youngest of nine children and was the last surviving member of the siblings. She met her husband at a New Year’s party and married June 20, 1959, where they spent 48 more years together residing in Minnesota, California, and Arkansas. She was a devout Catholic, attending church services regularly until she was unable to do so. She was very close to her sisters and enjoyed spending time with them hosting Halloween costume parties and having outdoor barbecues in White Bear Lake. She had a passion for shopping and was always looking for a great bargain in the downtown skyways during her lunch hour while working many for years St. Paul Companies (Travelers), or on the weekends looking for that great steal at garage sales. Never having children of her own, Jerita was a devoted and loving, generous grandmother who was always there for family. Her kindness was reflected in the adoration she had for the all the children in her life, and any baby always brought a smile to her face and joy in her heart. Jerita is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; stepson, Dennis Haynes; grandson, Steve Haynes; parents, Dolphus and Leah Cardinal; sisters Marie Letourneau, Harriet Brott, Mabel Foote, Irene Soete, Annie Krueger, Louise Beckstrom, Edith Beecher and brother Elmer Cardinal. She is survived by stepson, Ed (Barbara) Haynes; grandchildren Illya (Kirsten) Haynes, Jennifer (Jeff) Hennessey, Tiffany Haynes, and Brittany (Corey) Jackson; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and forever in our thoughts and prayers. Memorial Mass 11AM Tuesday, March 26th at the Church of St. William, 6120 5th St NE, Fridley, Minnesota, with a Gathering beginning at 10AM. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, May 4th at Wasson Funeral Home, 441 U.S. 412, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Internment Oak Hill Cemetery.
