Cremation
urns are available at the funeral home.
Special urns are available for earth burial. A SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING THE DEATH CERTIFICATE AND CREMATION PERMITS: It
is a requirement of State Law that a cremation permit be issued by the State
before the cremation can take place.
This permit will not be issued unless the death certificate is completed
and is signed by the certifying physician or medical examiner or coroner.
If a courier has to be sent out of town to obtain the
certifiers signature, an appropriate charge will be made to defray our costs
based on the amount of time and distance involved. Please be advised that State Law requires either
embalming and/or refrigeration if the cremation process is not started within
24 hours from the time of death.
In
cases where the death is a result of other than natural causes, (accidental,
suicide, or homicide) the state may issue a 72 hour waiting period before the
cremation process can be started.
